Renn Fest ramblings (first day at Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival)

We had a good time. We saw some neat shows - Celtic musicians, pirate comedy, fire eaters, and sea shantey-singing pirates (lostsatyr even got some of their CDs to take home with us.

We also got some nice stuff to bring home with us - blueberry honey, some honey sticks (they had ginger honey - yee!), some pretty pewter light switch plates (one with faeries, one with dragons and two with knotwork) and some lovely scented soap.

I also got myself a new necklace and a parasol (though I think lostsatyr liked the parasol too - he was quite taken with the shade!).

The Pittsburgh Faire is not as large as the Maryland or Pennsylvania Renn Faires, but that makes it easier to get around, too.

Oh! I also learned about how to shoot a bow properly, which will be good if I do decide to take lessons (yes, I'm thinking about it). Even though I don't think I'll be able to afford a bow while we're here...maybe after I go back to work....

I did manage to get a few pictures before the camera battery died, and lostsatyr took more - we just need to remember to get them off his phone when we get home.

So, we're having a good time here. :)
