We got back from vacation yesterday. I'd have updated more during the trip, but the wireless access at the Worst Western was not. For next year, I vote for the Days Inn & Suites - at least they have internet access that works consistently. :)

I had a grand time, despite the weather. I've already posted here about Friday, and have a post written for Saturday (to be uploaded once I get it off the laptop - stupid in-and-out wireless access), so I'm just going to hit the high points here (excuse any repetition; due to the flakiness of the hotel's net access, I posted this entry before I posted Saturday's).

We saw a lot of shows - the Renaissance Man (stand-up comedy), Shakespeare's Skum (comedic interpretations of the Bard's works), a couple of shows featuring the Royals (though I missed the Royal Arrival on all three days - poop) - and did some shopping. I got a green cloak (as it was chilly and drizzly on Saturday), a purple unicorn puppet, three books - Sex With the Queen by Eleanor Herman (autographed by the author, who's a very nice lady), Six Wives: The Queens of King Henry VIII, by David Starkey, and Henry VIII: the King and his Court by Alison Weir. I also got a new black rabbit skin (softness incarnate!) and an ermine skin for my four-footed babies (which seems to be a hit, at least with Miss Kerrigan). I also picked up a baby dragon puppet for bonusparts and her S.O. ("Woodbaby!") and a souvenier for my mom (for being so nice as to care for the four-feets while lostsatyr and I were away).

My new green outfit looked good - I even got a compliment on my hat (Woman at Faire: "Where did you get your [hat]? It's gorgeous!" Me: "I made it." *smiles* "Fabric and trim - Joann Fabrics.").

Oh! Congratulations are due willowriversong and her S.O., who have made things official. *gets out the party hats and noisemakers for them*

After conveying willowriversong and her S.O. to the train station in Baltimore, lostsatyr and I returned to bonusparts's and her fiance's home in Morton, where we spent that evening and the next day hanging out and talking about any number of things, from films to comics to NaNoWriMo (and bonusparts will probably be happy/relieved to know that I'm feeling a good deal more confident about entering now that I have a better idea of where the story will be going; I was still trying to fill in some things until my trip home, when something came to me that solved a good deal of my plot problems). It was very, very fun to do that, and I had a wonderful time doing so. I only wish we could do it more often.

On Wednesday morning, we headed out at around 10:30 am, and were back home at around 6:45 pm (after stopping to eat dinner at the Denny's near the Buffalo Airport).

A very fun vacation - I'm glad to be home again, but at the same time, I'm a bit sad that it's over. Oh, well, there's always next year. :)
