Why can't anything be simple?

A week ago, I picked up a new (secondhand) Acer Aspire One from a local computer place. It came with Windows 7, but since I'm used to XP, I asked him to put that on instead.

Last night, lostsatyr tried to set up the WiFi on it. No dice.

When we bought it, the dealer claimed he guarantees everything he sells. Well, we will be testing that claim this weekend - we're taking it back and asking him to make the WiFi work.

Hopefully this will be a quick fix; I like the machine otherwise, but without working WiFi, it's not too useful for what I want to use it for.

There's a little bit of a jump between XP and 7, but 7 actually works really well. And, it's more recently supported, so you're likely to have less issues with other software, than you might with XP. (Of course, I'm on a university campus, and we have 3-year cycles for everything.)

That said, if your seller guarantees, s/he should be held to that guarantee.

Good luck!
