In Maryland

After numerous detours in PA (due to flooding along the Susquehanna River), we made it safely to Annapolis and our hotel at around 9 PM. I'm just glad we were able to get here today in one piece - it looked kind of hairy there in some parts of PA (at one point we could see telephone poles sticking up out of the water!).

Tomorrow, we'll likely go into Washington D.C. - the Smithsonian has an exhibit of artifacts from September 11, 2001 that's only on display for a limited time (good thing we get Smithsonian magazine, or we wouldn't have known about it) that I'd like to see, and maybe we can fit in something else there, too. It's supposed to rain in D.C. tomorrow, but we've brought umbrellas and sweatshirts with hoods, so we should be OK.

Saturday and Sunday, Maryland Renn Faire!

Yeah, we've gotten hammered these last two weeks. There are *still* people who can't drive in to work, from all the flooding and mudslides on the highways.

It's not so bad around us, though we did have to deal with that flooded basement issue.... Very humid, though, and we're supposed to have more rain over the weekend. I'd avoid the coast, if you can!
